Team Needs: Philadelphia Eagles

Hurtin' for: a receiver
This seems to be obvious to everyone but Andy Reid. Of course, if you're familiar with his manner of public disclosure, you know that he probably wouldn't admit it if he agreed. A complicated offense that has repeatedly proven difficult for young receivers to grasp as well as a famous flop with Freddie Mitchell makes it unlikely the Eagles will address this spot in Round 1. Fortunately for them, though, this year's receiver talent lines up quite nicely with the round (the second) in which Reid previously selected Todd Pinkston and Reggie Brown.

Should be lookin' for: defensive backs
The biggest need in the secondary is for another safety, with Brian Dawkins set to turn 35 in October and showing signs of wear. The team has offered some favorable reviews on Marcus Paschal, but he's certainly far from a sure future starter. Besides that, 2007 draftee C.J. Gaddis failed his way out of town, and Sean Considine is dealing with a recurring shoulder problem. Last year looked like a better time to draft a successor early, so this need might linger beyond this draft.

At corner, William James is gone, and Lito Sheppard appears likely to leave. Although the team would still be set with a top three of Asante Samuel, Sheldon Brown and Joselio Hanson, reinforcements would help.

Will likely settle for: linemen
Of course, the Eagles always do. The offensive tackles are catching up to the age of their coaches, and Winston Justice fared famously poorly in his lone start to date. On defense, Philadelphia coaches often profess their love of a rotation up front. Look for at least one end and one tackle to be added on draft weekend.
