Weaknesses: Man-to-man coverage Statline: In four seasons at Arkansas State, recorded 13 interceptions, 15 passes defended, and 363 tackles in 46 games. Technique: Undersized for a strong safety and lacks cover skills of a free safety, but has athleticism to make plays. Known Injuries: Skipped agility drills at Combine because of cramps in right hamstring. Missed one game as a junior in 2006 because of an ankle sprain. Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON Analysis: Johnson’s stock is rising after a solid showing at the Hula Bowl followed by a big Combine. His athleticism has never been questioned, but he’s a bit undersized for a strong safety and doesn’t have the cover skills you would want from your free safety. Somewhere in between, though, is a great athlete some coaching staff believes they can turn into a great football player. |
