Highsmith looks to be a weakside backer in the pros due to his size.

Had ankle surgery following the 2006 season to clean up bone spurs.  

Analysis: Highsmith's college resume is impressive, but his lack of ideal size will likely cause him to fall out of the first day. However, he still projects to be a mid-round selection and his Cajun seasoning will allow him to immediately get on the field, either as a part of a linebacking rotation or special teams player. Ali may develop into a starter some day in the future, but look for that to occur after he spends a year or two in the weight room.
