Strengths: Outstanding quickness, relentless motor
Weaknesses: Undersized for the interior of an NFL line

Statline: In 49 games at Notre Dame, recorded 224 tackles (22.5 for loss) and added 10 sacks. Also blocked six kicks, forced two fumbles, recovered four fumbles, and intercepted a pass.

Technique: Undersized defensive lineman who compensates with a high motor. Former wrestler plays with good leverage and hands.

Known Injuries: Was redshirted as a freshman in 2003, possibly because of an undisclosed injury.

Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON

Analysis: Laws moved from a 4-3 tackle to a 3-4 end as a senior and had some success, but he won’t be an edge pass rusher in the NFL. He is a former wrestler with good balance and quick hands who plays with a relentless motor which occasionally gets him into trouble as he overruns plays. He’s a bit undersized and won’t stand up well to NFL double-teams, but it’s not as if Notre Dame played an easy schedule so Laws has seen more than his share of quality competition. His work ethic will land him a phone call on draft day, and he’ll be difficult to get rid of once he gets to camp.
