Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON

Analysis: Rubin spent his first two collegiate seasons at Trinity Valley Junior College, one on the defensive line and one on the offensive line. He moved into the starting lineup at Iowa State almost immediately and spent two seasons playing nose guard for the Cyclones. While he won’t pile up gaudy statistics himself, Rubin will eat up blockers and clog the middle, freeing up the linebackers and defensive ends to make plays. With more NFL teams playing a 3-4 defensive front Rubin should find a home in the middle rounds. And while his contributions may not look great on the stat sheet he’ll be a popular defender for his ability to keep the playmakers clean.
