![]() Weaknesses: Lacks bulk, history of injuries Statline: Only played two years at Maryland, recording three sacks, 247 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and four passes defended in 25 games. Technique: Athletic with good quickness; likely projects as a weak-side outside linebacker in the NFL. Known Injuries: Missed one game while playing through torn meniscus and sprained left knee in 2007. Also played through back problems in 2007. Missed redshirt freshman season in 2005 with torn ACL in same knee. Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON Analysis: Erin Henderson followed his brother E.J. to Maryland, where both were standout linebackers, and now he’ll follow him into the NFL. Unfortunately, the same injury bug that plagued E.J. in college claimed two of Erin’s collegiate seasons as well. That red flag, combined with the fact that he’s a little undersized to stand up to bigger NFL linemen, will—like his brother—keep him out of the first round. Henderson is versatile enough to play any linebacker position, but he’s at his best on the weak side where he’ll have more freedom to run down plays and avoid man-up blocking from bigger linemen. Not that he can’t handle said blockers, but at 244 he’s giving up 25 or more pounds to most tight ends and at least 50 to most linemen. Henderson would thrive in a Cover-2 scheme where his size is less of a liability and his footspeed a plus. |
