Strengths: Speed.
Weaknesses: Size.

Statline: Johnson ran for 1,468 yards and 17 touchdowns a year ago.

Technique:

Johnson is a good inside runner despite his lack of size. He's also a weapon in the passing game.

Known Injuries:

Had offseason neck surgery in 2006.

Combine / Workout Assessment: Coming soon.

Analysis: Johnson was a prospect unfamiliar to most casual football fans at the end of the college season, but he has made a name himself throughout the evaluation process by testing well in many areas, especially speed. While he has a compact frame, there is concern about how he will hold up throughout the 16 games an NFL runner must endure. Most franchises envision Chris more as a special teams threat and change-of-pace back who would complement their workhorse, not replace him. Because he isn’t seen as a franchise back, Johnson isn’t going to be a first-round pick; however, he has the type of speed teams covert, which means he will likely hear his name called before the third round concludes.
