Strengths: Aggressive, physical corner
Weaknesses: A bit short and lacks top-end speed

Statline: Finished his career at Virginia Tech with 10 interceptions, 31 passes defended, and 158 tackles in 41 games.

Technique: Aggressive, physical press corner; very adept in run support but lacks top-end speed, making him an ideal Cover-2 corner.

Known Injuries: Ankle injury knocked him out of bowl game in 2006. Right fibular fracture cost him all but one game as a freshman in 2004 and was granted a medical redshirt.

Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON

Analysis: At times Flowers was ranked by some scouts as the top corner in this year’s draft, but he measured a shade under 5-10 and ran a 4.58 40 at the combine—neither of which helped his cause. Despite being a bit short, Flowers is a physical corner who excels in run support and won’t be pushed around. His ball skills and football instincts more than make up for a lack of top end speed, so while he may not have been the most impressive corner at the Combine his work on film assures he’ll be a first-day pick. There is some talk that Flowers may be moved to safety in the NFL, though that is primarily because of his speed as opposed to his more-than-capable coverage skills.
