![]() Weaknesses: Needs to get stronger physically Statline: Intercepted 15 passes and broke up 32 passes in four years at Arizona. Also recorded 253 tackles in 46 games and averaged better than 23 yards per interception return. Technique: Outstanding cover corner capable of man-to-man coverage in the NFL Known Injuries: None Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON Analysis: Cason spent much of his collegiate career left alone in man-to-man coverage and won more battles than he lost. His cover skills have been compared by some to the Ravens’ Chris McAlister, which is extremely nice company to be in. However, scouts are concerned that Cason isn’t physical enough to press NFL receivers, and his run support skills have not drawn the same rave reviews his coverage skills receive. He isn’t considered an elite athlete, but his football instincts are very good and may allow Cason to switch to free safety at the NFL level. Cason also possesses elite return skills—he returned two punts for touchdowns in 2007—and offers immediate help to pro squads in special teams as well. |
