Statline: Finished LSU career with 1,943 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns; numbers were subdued as a senior due to a groin injury.

Technique: May be most effective out of the slot, but capable of being a possession receiver; if his speed returns, capable of being a deep threat as well.

Known Injuries: Missed four games as a senior with a groin pull. Missed Peach Bowl as a sophomore due to an ankle sprain.

Analysis: After toiling in the shadows of a pair of first-rounders (Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis), a groin injury sapped Doucet of his opportunity to prove he can be a go-to receiver. Worse, the injury appeared to take away his top-end speed, dramatically diminishing his yards-per-catch average as a senior. He has a solid frame and tends to play faster than his timed speed, so it remains to be seen if he can gain separation from NFL cornerbacks. He’ll also need to prove he can beat a jam at the line of scrimmage and, like almost all college receivers, his route running could use refinement. However, worst-case he projects to be a solid slot or possession receiver; best-case, if his speed returns he could return “deep threat” to his resume and develop into the feature receiver he never was in college.
