Statline: Rivers had 78 tackles and three fumble recoveries last season.

Technique: Rivers is an excellent athlete who uses his lateral speed to chase down runners and disrupt plays.

Known Injuries: Nothing of note.

Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON

Analysis: Rivers is a great athlete and big hitter who possesses the speed to be a sideline-to-sideline predator on the pro level. His natural skills make him the most exciting outside linebacker in this year’s draft class; however, he still needs to apply some polish to his game. Once he does master the finer points of the position, including better technique when being run at and some pass rushing moves, he has the potential to be a real playmaker. Look for him to start his career as a weakside linebacker.

Recent News:
The Cincinnati Bengals, with the 9th pick in Saturday's NFL Draft, selected Rivers, the defensive caption for Southern Cal in 2007. Rivers made 78 tackles last season.
Insight: The Bengals missed out on five defensive lineman drafted ahead of them, but they stay on the defensive side and grab the best linebacker available in the draft. And for the Bengals' sake, hopefully a character guy, something the team desperately needs. (Michael Hicks/SportsBuff.com)
