![]() Weaknesses: Speed. Statline: Connor had 145 tackles, 6.5 sacks and one interception last season. Technique:
Known Injuries: None. Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON Analysis: Dan will be the top inside linebacker available this April and could be the first linebacker off the board. Scouts are drawn to his strong tackling talents and incredible football smarts, not to mention his ability to get home on blitzes. He hails from a school nicked named Linebacker U, but he will be only the second linebacker from Penn State drafted since 2001 (Paul Posluszny). College pedigree aside, Connor’s lack of lateral speed means he will remain an inside backer in the pros; however, that deficiency won’t stop him from being an early pick, especially as more teams employ 3-4 sets. Recent News:
Projected by many as a late first- or early second-round pick, Connor instead went to the Panthers in Round 3 with the 74th selection overall.
Insight: Connor played inside and outside in college and will likely back up multiple spots in Carolina. The Panthers are set with Thomas Davis, Jon Beason and free-agent addition Landon Johnson as starters. (Matt Schauf/SportsBuff.com) More Reports2008-04-29 07:46:13 |
