Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON

Analysis: Jackson’s junior season wasn’t as statistically as impressive as his sophomore campaign, but he displayed enough to be considered the top wideout in this draft class. He still has to prove that he can beat press coverage consistently if he wants to translate his incredible speed into consistent production, which means he’ll have to add some muscle to his body and an arsenal of moves to help him beat physical corners. Teams should expect his development to take a couple years, and he may never turn into a consistent red-zone threat, but DeSean’s calling card is his blazing speed and it is that attribute that will make him a first-round selection in April. He could be a factor on special teams immediately, though.

Recent News:
Philadelphia picked Jackson at No. 49 and hope that his speed and explosiveness makes up for his lack of size.
Insight: Jackson was also working out with Jerry Rice and could also be used as a kick returner. (Marc Pruitt/SportsBuff.com)
