![]() Weaknesses: Not as physical as his size would suggest. Doesn’t have elite top-end speed. Statline: Averaged better than a touchdown a game (36 in 33 games) in three seasons at Indiana, including 16 last season along with 79 catches and 1,125 yards. Technique: Basketball player turned footballer: great on jump balls but needs to be more physical. Known Injuries: None. Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON Analysis: Hardy enrolled at Indiana as a two-sport star but left basketball behind after his freshman season to focus on football, which he has been playing since only his junior year in high school. Despite being raw and somewhat inexperienced, Hardy brings physical gifts that make scouts drool: 6-7 size, long arms and good hops that will certainly make him a red zone fiend. Some comparisons have been made to Randy Moss, though Hardy doesn’t have the same downfield speed; still, just being mentioned in the same breath as The Freak means pro teams have plans for someone with Hardy’s athletic abilities. He needs to prove he can get off the line and battle against pro-caliber corners, and his downfield blocking needs work as well. But a kid who has been on his own since the age of 13 is certainly no stranger to overcoming obstacles. A domestic assault incident in 2006 cost him a couple games and raised red flags regarding his character, but in the NFL talent trumps all so expect Hardy to be off the board early in Round 2 at the latest. |
