![]() Weaknesses: Upper body strength. Battled a variety of injuries as a senior. Statline: 69 tackles, 12.5 for a loss, and seven sacks during his senior season. Technique: Dorsey was a one-gap defender while at LSU who relied more on his quickness than raw strength to penetrate the line. Known Injuries: Dorsey missed several practices in 2007 with a sprained knee. He also battled a bad back and bum hamstring at various points in the year. Combine / Workout Assessment: COMING SOON Analysis: : Dorsey is the clear-cut No.1 defensive tackle in this year’s draft class and will certainly one of the first two defensive linemen off the board. After his senior year he owns more hardware than Bob Vila, as he was the 2007 winner of the Lombardi, Lott, Nagurski and Outland awards. He also earned points in the eyes of scouts by playing through his sprained knee, although his effectiveness was limited because of the injury. His quickness and ability to consistently disrupt offenses means that he can fit in both 3-4 and 4-3 schemes at the next level, and his resume suggests he will be able to start as a rookie. Recent News:
The Kansas City Chiefs, with the first of 13 picks in this weekend's draft, select LSU DT Glenn Dorsey with the No. 5 pick Saturday. Dorsey was the 2007 Nagurski Award, Lombardi Award, Outland Trophy and Lott Award winner -- the first player in school history to earn any of those postseason honors, according to NFL.com.
Insight: Earlier this week the Kansas City Chiefs traded 2007 sack leader DE Jared Allen to the Minnesota Vikings for three draft picks. Now, K.C. begins its rebuilding process by adding quite possibly the best defensive player in this year's draft.(Michael Hicks/SportsBuff.com) More Reports2008-04-26 12:38:01 |
